1. The "Great Communicator in the White House" title in the article is condescending. Why not call him Barack Obama or President Obama?

2. The previous comment refers to Archbishop Chaput and the Downs Syndrome child he mentioned in a recent letter. Unless the parents of that child leave a large trust fund, that child could end up on SSI and Medicaid. So much for the parents not wanting government-run health insurance.

Unfortunately, Mr Shaw, those who have been hypercritical of the president are also a bit thin in the credibility department. Even today, Archbishop Chaput trotted out a special needs child to illustrate some perceived problem with a federal insurance system. Why would he hide behind the skirts of a Down Syndrome girl? Do I have more confidence a for-profit corporation that routinely decides who gets treated and who doesn't isn't going to consider that child a financial liability? If I can't take an archbishop seriously, who's left in the Church that has anything sensible to say about insurance reform?

For the record, I've been calling it insurance reform all along. We have good health care in the US. The only problem is that if you're poor, you can't afford it. And if you're in Congress, the military, or over 65 you already benefit somewhat to pretty well from a government-run insurance program. Is Medicare running death panels?

I could take your input a little more seriously if your allies, for example, stopped photoshopping the president's head on a doctor's labcoated body. The least y'all can do is stick some Hartford insurance building on your marquee.
