The feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, celebrated today,
held a special place in the heart of Our Sunday Visitor’s founder, Archbishop
John F. Noll. He loved the devotion to
the Sacred Heart, and spread it throughout the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South
Bend, Ind. He performed enthronement ceremonies in the homes of his relatives
and enthroned the Sacred Heart in the Our Sunday Visitor pressroom.
The statue of the Sacred Heart enthroned by Archbishop Noll
remains at Our Sunday Visitor today, greeting visitors who come to the east entrance of
its building in Huntington, Ind.
