Let's hit the links. Not those links.

Okay, we've got a month left of summer, give or take, and maybe right about now you're starting to wilt and thinking you really don't have the energy to go ahead with all those August plans after all. Well, we've got some links to help you along and get you back on track.

Need some suggestions for late summer reading? The Anchoress has posted a list of books for your beach bag or deck chair or hammock or recliner. (Disclaimer: Yours truly makes the list with my new book, The Essential Guide to Catholic Prayer and the Mass.) Click HERE for suggestions that run the gamut, from books for moms to new media to compassion for animals. Something for everyone.

Over at Busted Halo, blogger Phil Fox Rose has expanded on the pope's vacation tips (and gave OSV Daily Take credit for sparking his column). Click HERE, take a deep cleansing breath, and follow his advice to bring a little sanity and spirituality back to your summer.

Don't feel like starting a new book or a new spiritual growth plan? Fine. Click HERE for a quick and funny take from The New Yorker on what it might sound like if God had His own blog. Very funny, if slightly irreverent. Which is precisely what makes it funny, people. Humor is good for the soul. Translation: No angry comments necessary.
